Lutheran Senior LIFE

Jersey City NJ

After an extensive search throughout Jersey City, Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey selected the new Liberty Health Medical Arts Building adjacent to the Jersey City Medical Center as the location for its new PACE Center, Lutheran Senior LIFE at Jersey City. This 13,500 square foot LIFE Center was designed specifically to fulfill the requirements of the PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program that provides all-inclusive health and personal care services to frail seniors who live in the community. The comprehensive services the participants receive through the PACE program enable them to reside in their own homes rather than in nursing homes.

The LIFE Center is the ‘hub’ of PACE activity where seniors gather and engage with staff and new friends. Monday through Friday, a wide variety of restorative, preventative, recreational and social activities are offered. Occupying the entire third floor of the building, the LIFE Center includes spacious dayrooms for dining and group activities, a gym for physical and occupational therapies, and a primary health center – all spaces that are filled with sunlight and have sweeping views of the Manhattan and Jersey City skylines. Personal care suites allow for safe and comfortable showering and grooming; the health center accommodates specialists to provide their services on-site; a specially designed dayroom affords a secure and low-stimulation place for clients with dementia.
