Kitchen & Associates’ The Pinnacle has won 2021 Project of the Year for its innovative approach to supportive housing in a high-rise setting. The firm will be honored during the 23rd annual Supportive Housing Association of New Jersey conference held in Somerset, NJ, later this month.
The Supportive Housing Association of New Jersey writes, “The Pinnacle fills a unique need in supportive housing that is often not able to be achieved: affordable supported independent apartments and DDD-licensed group homes in one of the densest urban locations in New Jersey.”
A market-rate high-rise with stunning views of Manhattan, The Pinnacle was designed with a mix of 64 market-rate apartments, 61 units of affordable housing, as well as 4 group-home units aimed at providing housing opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities such as autism. Also on site is an integrated, 5-story parking garage at the base of the structure, plus a robust program of amenities and supportive services for the residents.
The Pinnacle has been one of the most-anticipated special-needs communities to take shape in the metro-NY area in many years, with extensive application and waiting lists.
