Mission First Housing Group, in a joint venture with Horizon House, Inc, broke ground at 59th and Market streets last week to begin construction on the first phase of New Market West. City officials, state representatives, as well as Governor Wolf were present for the momentous ceremony on Friday.
The building will offer ground-floor retail, offices, and early-learning classrooms. Horizon House, a provider of community-based behavioral health and disability services, will be relocating their headquarters to the development when it is completed.
New Market West will revitalize what is currently a vacant block in West Philadelphia, creating an estimated 120 temporary jobs during construction and 100 full-time jobs once completed. K&A could not be prouder to be a part of this project that breathes new life into the Haddington community.
