On October 17th K&A, NewBridge Services Inc., the Mental Health Association of Passaic County (MHAPC), and the City of Clifton celebrated the grand opening of a new 3-story, 6 unit supportive housing apartment complex developed for unique families coping with mental illness and financial limitation. The two and three-bedroom apartments cater to families of different sizes. Each unit provides fundamental living spaces (kitchen, living, dining, sleeping, and bathing) and both ground floor units incorporated universal design practices for full accessibility throughout the apartment. Large living and sleeping spaces, expansive kitchens and ample closet space provide adequate room for a family to spread its roots. Laundry is on-site, and there is a common storage area for bikes and strollers.
In addition, this project was designed and constructed using sustainable, energy efficient methods. Not only is the project Energy Star certified, but also follows the New Jersey Green Futures guidelines. Environmental goals were established early in the development process – focusing on the creation of healthy spaces with high indoor air quality, energy efficient building systems to minimize utility costs, and durable interior finishes that are easy to maintain. Lake Street is in close proximity to 3 parks, the NJ Transit rail line, and several bus stops.
Congratulations to NewBridge Services, Inc. on a life-changing project.
