K&A joined Genesis Companies, LLC, Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver, Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop, other city and state officials, as well as family members of the building’s namesake at the long-awaited ribbon-cutting ceremony of the new affordable five-story construction proudly named, Dr. Lena Frances Edwards Apartments. Located at 455 Ocean Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey, the building is named in honor of a prominent African-American physician who lived and worked in Jersey City. Dr. Lena Frances Edwards Apartments is an Energy Star Certified building, consisting of 64 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. Seven units are set aside for families at or below 30 percent of the area median income, while five units are for homeless veterans. Residents will have the convenience of a community room, bike storage, parking, and a shared laundry room.
