On Wednesday, August 8th, K&A staff joined the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA), The Alpert Group, Ironstate Development, HANDS Inc., and other local officials at the groundbreaking for Valley Road Residential, a new 5-story midrise multi-family development located at 22-24 Central Avenue in West Orange. Valley Road will be the next door neighbor to the newly opened Harvard Printing Company and will offer 4 floors of 100 mixed-income apartments of 1-2- and 3-bedrooms. 55% of the units are designed for workforce housing with the balance being market rate housing. 5 units will be set aside for people with mobility impairments and 3 units for those with hearing and visual impairments. Garage parking, a ground floor lobby lounge, coffee bar, mail room, as well as management and building services will all be located on the ground floor of the building. All apartments will be certified Energy Star Version 3.1 and will offer all Energy Star labeled appliances. Valley Road is a transit-oriented development located within 1/2 mile of the Highland Avenue NJ Transit station providing easy access to NYC and greater New Jersey.
