Sacred Heart Residences on Track to be First PHIUS Certified Mid-Rise in State of PA

05.16.2016 — Pennrose Companies’ construction on Sacred Heart Residences, an affordable senior living development in Allentown, PA is on track to become the first mid-rise apartment building in the state of Pennsylvania to meet Passive House certification for energy efficiency. Given the additional costs associated with Passive House design, the Sacred Heart project is one of seven Passive House developments currently underway throughout the state that the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) will be monitoring for both overall energy savings, as well as any tradeoffs associated with the higher costs of passive versus conventional building.
