Conifer Village at Ferry Station Camden, New Jersey

K&A provided comprehensive architecture, engineering, planning, and interior design services for this new 4-story affordable senior residence in the City of Camden. The building is comprised of 50 total residential units (40 one-bedroom, and 10 two-bedroom). The building also includes common areas amenities such as laundry, computer, and fitness rooms, a community room for meetings and social events, and a large lobby with generous lounge space for social interaction. Supportive infrastructure includes a secure entry vestibule, a wireless emergency call system and an electronic keyless entry door for each apartment. This project is adjacent to PATCO Ferry Avenue station and is part of a larger residential development campus that includes other senior and family rental units.

A host of energy saving features are incorporated into the design and construction of the senior residence. The HVAC systems, appliances, and lighting are all Energy Star rated, the building is tightly air-sealed, and wall insulation is provided above code requirements. In addition, photovoltaic panels are located on the roof to provide supplemental electricity for common area lighting and power needs.
