Faison Mews Camden, New Jersey

Located in the Parkside neighborhood of Camden, New Jersey, Faison Mews is a 51-unit affordable housing apartment complex consisting of one-bedroom independent living units for seniors. The project involved the gut rehabilitation of the historic Pearlye Building, which houses 12 units. Thirty-nine units are located in an adjacent, newly constructed mid-rise building linked to the Pearlye by a pedestrian bridge. The project also includes a community room and a private courtyard for residents to enjoy.

One of the first projects in the state to integrate green principles into its program, the design contains many sustainable features such as recycled content materials, energy efficient appliances and lighting, and a rainwater cistern. Faison Mews was a New Jersey Green Homes pilot project.
