Center House Asbury Park, New Jersey

K&A worked directly with a non-profit organization to design this new, three-story building serving the HIV/AIDS homeless population in Asbury Park, NJ. The housing components are located on the second and third floors and includes twenty-five, single resident occupancy (SRO) units that are leased to qualified applicants at low cost.

Day and support service areas  located on the ground floor include offices, a day room with a TV, a dining room and an outdoor garden space. All residents receive three meals a day and are assigned caseworkers to provide them with financial and life counseling services. Center House is certified in the New Jersey Energy Star Program and is one of the first buildings to be completed in the redevelopment zone in Asbury Park.
