Mary M. Johannesen, AIA, a principal of Kitchen & Associates, has been with the firm since 1994 where she has served as an associate as well as a project manager in K&A's Housing division. More specifically, she provides project management for architectural and planning projects with particular expertise in the design of living facilities for older adults.

A graduate of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with a Bachelors degree in Architecture, Ms Johannesen is a registered architect in the State of New Jersey and an active member of the American Institute of Architects. She is also involved in the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, The National Association of Senior Living Executives, and The Assisted Living Federation of America.
