Steve’s dedication and influence on the K&A staff has resulted in establishing the firm’s leadership in the field of affordable housing for more than 25 years.

A Natural Leader
Since joining the firm in 1984 Steve has made significant contributions to both the creative and the business accomplishments of the firm. As Managing Principal, Steve oversees Kitchen & Associates’ architectural endeavors, serving a wide variety of public, private and non-profit clients as team leader and designer.

An Expert in Housing
As a practitioner, Steve is an expert in the design of residential solutions for a broad spectrum of housing typologies including Affordable Housing/Housing Authorities, Mixed-Use Developments and Special-Needs/Supportive Housing. Steve has been a speaker at multiple professional workshops and conferences with topics ranging from Building Better and More Affordable Housing, Common Sense Green, High Performance and Green Design-Build, and Recycling Historic Buildings. He is NCARB certified, A LEED® Accredited Professional and is a Registered Architect in fourteen states.
